How do you get a blow out?
A blow out happens when you shove the taper in too quickly that is too big for example if you were to go from 3mm to 8mm because the increase is too fast the skin can’t stretch and so tears this is the blow out and is almost immediate. Blow outs don’t form from gradual stretching.

What can I do to fix this?
To fix a blowout,
1. Downsize at LEAST one gauge.
2. Use proper jewelry. This means no organics or acrylic, glass plugs works good if you can get one, it allows the ear to breath and doesn’t have things in it to react to. Surgical steals are also good because you can completely sterilize it in boiling water.
3. Clean the blowout once or twice a day, using your sea salt soaks, this helps to draw out impurities and to help the ear “reabsorb” itself back in.
4. Do not mess with the jewelry. The idea here is to do regular aftercare, like it is a new piercing. You will need to do this until the blowout is…well, not blown out. This could take a few months, so be patient with your body.

Tattoo Healing Time

Keep New Tattoos Clean and Dry
Tattoo aftercare is something that varies pretty heavily from artist to artist – I’d mostly encourage you to do what your artist encourages, unless you have a lot of work and have something that works for you. The main thing to me is that my clients keep it clean and dry. Take time out to wash the tattoo with a mild body soap – most people’s bodies being healthy and left alone, a tattoo will heal.

Apply a Tattoo Aftercare Product

After the first day or so, it’s alright to begin to use aftercare products. They range from Aquaphor to A&D – being a more old school aftercare, most artists will give that to their clients. Petroleum-based products such as A&D and Vaseline, things of that nature – the biggest problem is that they are petroleum, they’re very easy to overuse, clog the pores and prevent oxygen – a lot of people will get little bumps in response to that. I would say that if you are going to use A&D – fine product – barely use it, just enough to actually moisturize the tattoo.

Personally I don’t put anything on mine for the first 24 hours, but after that – the first three or four days – most people then will switch over to a good lotion – just something without a lot of extras, fragrances, perfumes that kind of thing – just a simple lotion that works well with you. Three to five times a day probably is a nice average – I think it depends a lot on you. If you’re considered a particularly “dry” person, you might want to lean more towards that five – if you don’t think of yourself that way, maybe less, two to three times a day.

Long-Term Tattoo Care and Protection

As far as long-term care, the sun is probably the main enemy of tattoo work. I would say that black work you really don’t have a lot to worry about, but if you have colors it’s really important to protect it from the sun. If you expect to be in it for any period of time – particularly whites, yellows, oranges – those really vibrant, more translucent colors are going to suffer from the sun tanning. A high-SPF Chapstick works for some of the small tattoos, or just a really good sun block – or – don’t get in the sun. Like I said, I think the main thing is leaving them alone. Keep them clean and dry.

Judging from the amount of views the pictures of corset piercings are getting i thought i would write a little article about corset piercing just giving the basic information about it as it is a relatively new type of piercing and not everyone knows about corset piercing.

A corset piercing is a series of surface piercings done to emulate the appearance of the lacing on the back of a corset. Two rows of bilaterally symmetrical piercings are performed and can be composed of as few as four piercings (two in each row) or as many as the length of the area being pierced (usually the back) and the vertical space between piercings will allow space for. Due to the difficulty and risks associated with permanently healing single surface piercings, most corset piercings are intended to be temporary in nature.

Temporary corset piercings are often performed for aesthetic reasons, often as part of a fetish event or photo shoot. A body piercer may also perform a corset piercing to promote his/her business, to be photographed for a portfolio or to be used for advertising purposes. They may also be performed as play piercings as part of BDSM activity. Often temporary corset piercings are worn laced with ribbon, rope, or chain.

Usually temporary corset piercings use captive bead rings as jewelry, but corset piercings intended as play piercings or as part of a short photo shoot might simply be done with hypodermic needles, which will be removed after the activity is finished.

Rarely worn for more than a week, corset piercings may be worn only for a few hours, until the event or activity they were performed for has ended. Temporary corset piercings are open wounds, and are subject to the same infection, cross contamination, and irritation risks as any other healing piercing or small wound. Scarring from the removal of temporary piercings is usually minimal or non-existent.

It is theoretically technically possible to heal the multiple surface piercings that constitute a corset piercing. Permanent corset piercings would consist of multiple surface piercings, pierced with jewelry designed for the purpose, and bear all of the healing issues and risks associated with them. To date, the most successful attempts at permanent corset piercings have been performed with surface bars, although some success has been reported using Teflon or Tygon tubing, both of which are flexible and move with the body. There have also been experiments in healing corset piercings as transdermal implants.

Due to the tremendous potential for the healing piercings to be irritated by normal daily life, corset piercings, even healed ones, require constant vigilance by the wearer to prevent damage.

Although corset piercings are usually intended to be laced, during the healing period, especially the initial healing period, surface piercings intended to be part of permanent corset piercings are not usually laced as it puts pressure, torsion, and tension on the piercing that can increase the chances of migration and rejection. Once the piercing is fully healed, one of the beads at the end of the surface bar can be replaced with a special bead, drilled to accept a ring, similar to the bead on a bondage bar. The healed surface piercings can then be laced for aesthetic purposes, although subjecting the piercings to extended periods of lacing can increase the risk of migration or rejection.

Healing and aftercare for corset piercings is identical to healing for any surface piercings, although the healing process can be extended and complicated due to the number of piercings healing at the same time, which puts greater stress on the body. The location of most corset piercings, on the individual’s back, can make caring for the healing piercings more difficult as well. Like all surface piercings, rejected or improperly healed corset piercings can leave noticeable permanent scarring.

Although corsetry has a long history, the corset piercing is of contemporary origin, coming into practice with the establishment of the body piercing industry in the late 1990s. Like corsetry, it is associated with erotic behavior and aesthetics, particularly fetish aesthetics. Also paralleling corsets, most wearers of corset piercings are women.

There is some controversy regarding the publication and promotion of images of corset piercing. Almost all of the photographs of corset piercing are of fresh piercings, which have not had the time to reject, migrate or otherwise fail to heal properly. Images used in advertising or magazines may be photoshopped or airbrushed to eliminate indications of swelling, redness, or infection, further promoting the illusion that these piercings are easy, or even possible to heal. Photographs of corset piercings done with captive bead rings, which are inappropriate for permanent corset piercings, vastly outnumber photographs of corset piercings done as proper surface piercings. Usually corset piercings are photographed laced, also leading the public to believe that they can be worn laced at all times, which is not possible, even in a well healed, permanent corset piercing.

But that hasn’t stopped Victoria Beckham from adding yet another one to her growing collection.

The former Spice Girl has had Arabic symbols inscribed on her left wrist, but what the mysterious lettering says is anybody’s guess.

The singer’s other tattoos have a sentimental slant, with husband David’s initials on her left wrist and a Roman numeral on her right wrist representing the date they first made love.

A Hebrew inscription on her spine reads’ I am my beloved and my beloved is mine’, from the Bible’s Song of Solomon.

She also has five stars on her lower back which represent herself, David and sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and Cruz, four.

Victoria’s penchant for tattoos is fast following that of husband David, 34, who has several designs on his back, arms and neck.

They include a six-inch replica of wife Victoria on his forearm and his sons’ names on his back.

Posh revealed the new design as she arrived back at Los Angeles from Denver yesterday.

Dressed from head to toe in grey with her hair pulled in a slick top knot, Victoria was accompanied by three bodyguards as she left the airport terminal.

She had been in Colorado to film segments of the hit TV show American Idol on which she will appear on the judging panel following the departure of Paula Abdul.

It is rumoured Victoria will be paid £155,000 for the one-off appearance as a guest judge.

Is it getting too popular and taking the goodness out of it. The first person I saw with this tattoo was a hot chick with a tattoo behind her left ear I was in L.A. and I thought it looked awesome and very beautiful, she just had three stars and a design around them I was very impressed and was thinking of getting a tattoo behind my ear myself but all of a sudden I started noticing so many people with the same tattoo so it has kind of put me off the idea.
